5 Open Source Myths
Posted by Matt Allen on 17 July 2014 03:00 PM

“Should we go open source or proprietary?”

That oft-repeated question is actually not so black and white—and like most things in life there is a whole lot of grey. Today, open source is usually not purely open source. And, die-hard proprietary software companies are today buying open source companies and running their own open source projects. Net-net, both the open source and proprietary models produce good software—and that’s what we all want in the end. But, I’d simply like to debunk

Strata Recap: The Data-centered Data Center
Posted by Kelsi Veralrud on 14 February 2014 11:06 AM

After hearing that MarkLogic has been around since 2001, people coming by our booth at the Strata Conference in Santa Clara couldn’t help but wonder how on earth they didn’t know about this database that can do so much.

Big Data Nation Tour: San Francisco
Posted by Caroline Carlos on 20 June 2013 05:48 PM

When our road show stopped in the City by the Bay, we discussed a different way of doing things – a necessary escape from the relational world because 80% of the world’s data today doesn’t fit into rows and columns. Panelists Christopher Lindblad, Greg Shepherd, Palanivelu (Bala) Balasubramanian, and Jason Hunter chatted about enterprise needs and the impetus to quickly innovate.

The panel was a lively one. MarkLogic Founder Chris Lindblad waved his hands talking about the origins of
